| An amalgamation
between Pelican FC and Bilborough FC in 2005 forged an outfit fit enough to
challenge for major honours in the Central Midlands League. Since forming in 1984, Pelican
became one of the strongest Amateur sides in the county winning silverware in the Notts
Amateur League and twice winning the Notts Alliance Senior Division (in 1995 and 2002)
After joining the CML with similar success the side merged with NAA outfit Bilborough
(established since 1994) with a view to improving their Birchover Park ground and forging
their way up the non league Pyramid. With proposed re-development hitting a stand-still,
however, the side faced eviction from the CML and joined the NSL in 2007. |
