Nottinghamshire
were founded in 1895 but up until 1902 only played friendlies.
During that season, the side changed their name to Nottingham
Magdala, a title they kept until 1906 before the break away of what
is known today as Magdala
Amateurs, folowing the break away of Magdala, the club reverted
to its existing name Nottinghamshire FC and adopting its current
green and white halves kit and winning the 1908 MAA Championship.
The club has played many famous opponents in the past, the likes of
Vienna Cricket and Football Club (who later became Austria Vienna),
in the early 1900's they twice reached the final of the Notts Senior
Cup in 1906 (losing to Nottingham Forest) and in 1927 (losing to
Mansfield Town). The club spent 99 years (winning eleven league
titles and ten senior cups) in the MAA before joining the Notts
Alliance in 2003, the club were founder members of the Notts Amateur
Alliance before re-joining the MAA and in 2009 the NSL. |
