Netherfield
Albion were formed in 1931 and within four years won their first
piece of silverware, the Notts FA Intermediate Cup in front of a
2,625 crowd at Meadow Lane against Ransome & Marles. The club
played in teh Notts Alliance until the late 1970's and after a stint
two and from the District & Spartan League and the Alliance, in
1990 they joined the Notts Amateur League. After two seasons in the
Premier Division the club suffered a downward spiral but under the
stewardship of Shaun Pates the club went from Division Four back to
the Premier in only four years. After a third placed finish in 2004,
the club suffered near collapse but last season transformed under
Alan Avery's Management and won the NAA Premier four years after
becoming founder members of the merger. After over thirty years at
Colwick Rectory, the club now play at Stoke Lane, also home of East
Midlands Counties side Gedling Town. |
