Southwell
City was originally formed in 1893 and re-formed in 1955. With honours few and far
between in the clubs early days, it wasn't until under the Millennium (under the
sterardship of John Campbell) when Southwell finally won the Alliance Senior Division
title in 2000/01. A year later they also won the Alliance Senior Cup. Although never
winners, the club has twice reached the final of the Notts FA Senior Cup, losing in 1989
(with former Forest full back Colin Barrett in charge) and more recently in 2002. In 2003
Southwell joined the Central Midlands League where they still play, in 2009 the Reserve
side joined the NSL. |
